A 19-YEAR-OLD man had to have surgery after being assaulted in North Swindon yesterday.
The victim was attacked by another man near the Orbital Shopping Centre around 5pm on Thursday. He received serious injuries to his jaw and was quickly taken to GWH.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses.
Though the assault was carried out by one person, it is believed that a number of other young people were present at the scene and witnessed the incident.
Det Sgt Scott Anger, from Swindon CID, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what was a serious assault on one person.
"We believe mobile phone footage of the incident was taken and I would appeal for the holder of that to come forward.
"Our investigations are continuing and if you can help with our enquiries in anyway please contact me at Swindon CID."
