BEAUTY Queen Georgia Holmes will be heading to Texas in June, having secured a place in the final of an international pageant.

Georgia, 28, from Bremhill View, an assistant administration manager, was crowned Young European International Mrs and will represent Europe at the Young International finals, competing against contestants from around the world, in a paid-for trip to the United States.

She was one of three Wiltshire women in the British finals, which took place in Dudley recently. Emily Sawyer, from Calne, won Miss Beauty Supreme, and Sheri Harvey, from Moredon in Swindon, won the Photogenic Award in her Young European International Miss section. Georgia has raised money for the Alzheimer's Society as part of the project, in memory of her grandmother who died of the condition.

She said she was surprised and delighted to win, and that husband Michael was proud.

"I have been doing pageants for five years now, so it's nice to see all my hard work has paid off," she said.
