A DERELICT double garage near Westbury is to go under the auctioneer’s hammer with no reserve in the run-up to Christmas, meaning it could sell for as little as £1.

The building at Little Court Lane, Edington, is among 131 lots being sold by regional land and property auctioneers, Clive Emson.

Experts have said the garage could be a great buy for anyone looking for a small redevelopment project, and with no reserve price, it is likely to be a bargain.

Rob Marchant, a Clive Emson auctioneer, said: “The existing building is in poor condition and is in need of repair or replacement.

“It is considered the site may suit redevelopment for perhaps a garage, workshop or store, subject to planning consent.

“An area at either end of the existing building has previously been used for car parking.”

The firm, which works with 850 high street estate agents, raised £28 million from 180 lots catalogued for the previous round of auctions

Managing director James Emson said: “Our last auction series was certainly packed with treats as a number of properties achieved well above guide prices and a fantastic selection of excellent buys were snapped up.

“We look forward to our December auction, the final one of the year, which is always a festive occasion, with a host of Christmas crackers for all tastes and pockets.”

Clive Emson’s regional auction takes place at 11am on December 14, at the Solent Hotel and Spa, Rookery Avenue, Whiteley, near Portsmouth.
