AN information sharing charter has been set up in Wiltshire to help organisations share data safely.

The Wiltshire Information Sharing Charter has been introduced to assist in lawful and integrated sharing of data between partner organisations.

Launched at County Hall, it establishes consistent and robust protocols to ensure people’s data is managed correctly and groups that sign up to it are provided with a toolkit.

The aim is for WISC to provide the foundation for the sharing of personal information between partner members in the public, private and voluntary sector organisations to improve the provision of services to people in the county.

Cabinet member for IT, Philip Whitehead, said: “I was pleased to be invited to open the launch event for WISC and to promote the benefits for Wiltshire residents and organisations by adopting this common-sense collaborative approach. Everyone will work to the same guidelines enhancing the services that we deliver and provide peace of mind for our residents about how we handle their data.”
