A FESTIVE four-legged performance capped off the annual Parks Christmas party last night.

Poodles and collies from Swindon Dog Dancing School performed to Christmas classics in front of families at the annual community event.

The school did group dances as well as an impressive duo from poodles Celine and Sean, led by their trainer Milka Vojtrskova.

Milka, from Old Town, told the Adver the two poodles, a12 and seven year-old mum and daughter, had been training since they were young.

"I was really happy, they did really well," she said.

"It's not easy, because we had lots of noise from the children, and you can't train them on that, you go on the day and you try your best."

St Johns Church, on Whitbourne Avenue, hosted the family Christmas festival with crafts stalls as well as performances from Goddard Park, Holy Family and Oakfield primary schools and a line dancing demonstration from group M4 Stompers.

After the show the dogs led people to the Christmas tree outside to reflect on family and the importance of Christmas time to the community.

Organiser Rev Linda Fletcher added: "The whole day has been about celebrating the community. In this area people really love their pets and really enjoy the dog dancing

"It was about showing all the skills and talents in the community."
