SUPERMARKET Aldi is inviting people to find out more about its plans for a new store in Malmesbury with an exhibition at the Assembly Room in the Town Hall on Wednesday December 12 from 2pm till 7.30pm.

Aldi submitted a planning application to Wiltshire Council in July to redevelop brownfield land at Malmesbury Garden Centre, Crudwell Road. The proposals also include outline plans for a replacement garden centre and new infrastructure to deliver other future employment-generating uses on the site. Aldi’s proposal would deliver a multi-million-pound investment in the area, creating approximately 40 new jobs in the store.

A spokesperson for Aldi said: “Our proposals would regenerate and rejuvenate a brownfield site, whilst also significantly improving local shopping choice for Malmesbury.

“We have listened to the feedback we received and since submitting our planning application in July we are continuing to evolve the plans, including improving pedestrian, cycle and bus links to the site.

"We would like to encourage people to find out more about our proposals at our forthcoming public exhibition, where our latest plans will be available to view and discuss with the project team.”
