A TALK tomorrow night will help low income families cope better with fluctuations in the cost of heating their homes.

Organised by the Swindon Climate Action Network the event will discuss how families struggling with energy bills can be more "energy resilient".

Ellie Stevens, from the Centre for Sustainable Energy, will give a talk on the Powering Up! project which looks at building energy resilience in low income communities.

A spokesperson for the event wrote: "We don’t want any community to be left behind - community energy can have huge social and financial benefits; it can bring people with common concerns together, and generate income towards other projects and lift people out of fuel poverty.

"Through this project we are applying community development methods as we work in low income communities with no history of community energy to increase knowledge, confidence and energy resilience".

The event is free and will be at Darkroom Espresso on Farringdon Road. To get a free ticket go to the Event Brite page at bit.ly/2DQxrS9.
