A drug dealer who was supplying crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis to users in Swindon has been jailed for eight years at the end of a successful three-year investigation by Wiltshire Police.

Reuben Rose, 25, from Windrush Road in London was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court after pleading guilty to supplying the drugs to people in the town.

Rose first came to Wiltshire Police's attention in July 2015 when he was suspected of driving around the area delivering drugs to users.

Police stopped him several times during that summer after intelligence from the public showed that he was travelling to Swindon on an almost-daily basis, and he was found to have phones suspected of being linked to drug deals along with a large amount of cash.

As the investigation continued, police identified an address he was using in London and they executed a drug warrant there, seizing almost seven-and-a-half ounces of crack cocaine and heroin and four ounces of cannabis with a total estimated street value of £20,000. They also seized a live firearm.

Whilst on bail to Swindon Crown Court, Rose was stopped in Essex where he was found to be in possession of approximately 60 street deals of crack cocaine and heroin and a phone suspected to be involved in drug supply. He pleaded not guilty to this offence but was later found guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Finally, on Friday, he was sentenced to four and a half years in jail for the Swindon crimes and three and half years in jail for the offences in Essex.

PC Gareth Snoad, from the Dedicated Crime Team in Swindon, said: "This is another example where Wiltshire Police were able to act on information provided to us by members of the public.

"County lines drugs supply is a national problem and needs to be targeted as it affects everyone within our communities.

"We are determined to stamp this out but need your help - if you suspect someone to be involved in drug dealing please call us on 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
