FAMILIES can get into the festive spirit by taking part in a Christmas tree decorating competition.

Children can visit children’s centres and libraries in Chippenham and Trowbridge to take part in the Cardboard Christmas Tree Challenge.

The Rise Frogwell Children’s Centre in Chippenham is hosting the creative session from 10-11am on Thursday December 13.

Families in Trowbridge can take part at the library from 10-11am on Saturday December 15 as part of the Trowbridge Library Christmas Hullabaloo.

To book a place for a child at the Hullabaloo call the library on 01225 716700. The session costs £1.50 per child.

The trees will go on display at County Hall in the library, Trowbridge, on Saturday for everyone to enjoy. People can vote for their favourite tree on the council’s Facebook page or by using voting slips at reception.

The winning entry will receive a special prize and a gold certificate. Certificates will also be presented to runners-up.

The winner will be declared on December 20.
