CROWDS of hundreds came through the doors of Trowbridge Town Hall at the weekend as the creative Christmas market came to town.

Local arts and crafts business and individuals showed off their produce on stalls and sold to the many Christmas shoppers looking for a handmade bargain.

This year the market was organised in a partnership between the Town Hall, Go Fish events and Nicola Davis who runs the Corsham Creative markets.

David Baker from Go Fish and one of the event coordinators said: “I was amazed with the amount of people who came down to the market.

“When we were trying to shut the doors at 3pm there were still people wanting to come in and have a look around.

“We had lots of local business on different stalls and all of them made back their money and more and managed to sell a lot of goods.

“I was just blown away by the creativity and imagination of some of the stalls.

“This year was slightly different as Go Fish worked as part of a partnership, and it worked really well. Profit through partnership as they say.

“Go Fish are continuing to look at ways in which we can support the town hall, and as part of that we plan to hold another Christmas market next year.

“We also plan on holding another market in the last spring which will be in the Tesco Extra car park.”

Nicola Davis said: "I was really impressed with the turnout which was great for all our local business.

"I had a stall myself as I make silk paintings and silk scarves, and there were lots of other handmade gifts.

"The market is a great opportunity for local craft businesses to promote their products and also network with each other.

"I run the Corsham creative market also, so a lot of my regular stall holders were pleased to have the chance to come to Trowbridge."
