A PLANNING application to open a 24 hour gym has been called in for discussion by Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council's amenity committee.

The application is seeking a change of use of unit 47 on the Whitehill Industrial Estate, near the town, from light industrial, to health and leisure.

While the town council had no objections to the proposal it has been called in by a member of the planning committee for its increased hours of use.

The application said evening and night use will have "little impact on neighbours

due to most of the Industrial complex using daytime hours."

No additional structures will be built and it will keep the eight parking spaces to meet the level of demand from customers.

The gym, which will be the areas first late-night gym, is a new venture for business owner Darren Beasley who is currently the owner for Swindon Metal Solutions, based just south of Royal Wootton Bassett.

The town's amenity committee will discuss the gym tonight at the town hall at 7.30pm.
