A plane crashed in a Wiltshire field ended up embedded in the ground.

And amazingly the pilot escaped unscathed.

A picture taken by the Bradford on Avon fire service shows the red propeller plane stuck in a field.

In the Tweet, the service said: "Mobilised to an upside down aircraft. Luckily the pilot managed to self rescue and was up walking about on arrival."

Multiple crews from Dorset and Wiltshire and Somerset were mobilised after a light aircraft crash crash landed on its roof near Norton St Philip just after 1pm this afternoon.
Crews from Bradford on Avon and Frome fire stations located the incident and confirmed one light aircraft had crash landed on its roof.
The pilot had managed to get out of the aircraft before the emergency services arrived and was walking around. He did not require medical attention.
The fire crews helped to right the aircraft off its roof.
