A MAN who pinched the bottom of a woman who was working on the door of a town centre pub has admitted sexual assault.

Benedict Hibberd had been due to face trial after pleading not guilty to groping the bouncer outside the Marlborough hostelry on May 26.

But before a jury could be sworn in at Swindon Crown Court the 33-year-old, of Farm Lane, Aldbourne, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault.

It had been alleged that he had touched the woman over her clothing outside the High Street pub.

Judge Jason Taylor QC adjourned the case so a pre-sentence report can be prepared and released Hibberd on conditional bail to have no contact with the victim.

Any time he may have to register as a sex offender is determined by the length and type of sentence imposed.
