A GROUP of ‘paedophile hunters’ cornered a man who they suspected of grooming a child in Penhill.

In a lengthy video which was broadcast live on Facebook on Monday night and watched by more than 35,000 people, the Fleetwood Enforcers UK visited the man’s address as part of a sting and waited there for almost two hours.

Wiltshire Police officers were also at the scene at the same time as the group.

Officers arrested the man at around 11pm and took him to Gablecross police station in an unmarked police car.

The Fleetwood Enforcers group members appeared upset that they didn’t get the chance to confront their target face-to-face after their long wait in the cold January air.

A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said yesterday: “A 37-year-old man was arrested in Penhill on January 14 on suspicion of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.

“He remains in custody in Gablecross.

“Our investigation is currently ongoing and it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
