More than 50 companies from Swindon and around are being lined up for a job event for young people.

Set for February 14, Swindon JobFest will try and make a match between youngsters looking for training for work and firms needing new blood.

Students from secondary schools have been invited to the event earlier in the afternoon while members of the public are welcome to go along from 2.30pm.

Councillor Oliver Donachie, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Prosperity, said: “The response to JobFest 2018 was excellent, with several young people walking away from the event with job opportunities while many others got lots of information about the options available to them.

“It’s a great chance for jobseekers looking for employment, training or apprenticeships in the Swindon area to speak to employers face-to-face to get the information they need to help them decide which employment route to take.”

Swindon JobFest will return to the Steam Museum on Thursday, February 14 from 2.30pm until 6pm.
