Swindon Climate Action Network has received a grant from Midcounties Cooperative to host the next Swindon Eco Fest.

The fourth Eco Fest to be held in Swindon will offer information and inspiration about greener, sustainable environmentally-friendly ways to live.

The day will be themed around the theme Your Eco Lifestyle, with tips and suggestions from local environmental groups, talks, arts and crafts activities, and food to buy.

Simon Smith of SCAN said: "The Eco Fest has become increasingly-popular each year.

The event is being co-organised with the Eastcott Community Organisation and will be held at Savernake Street Social Hall on April 14.

Events coordinator Anish Harrison said: ‘’Eastcott Community Organisation is thrilled to be supporting the fantastic work of SCAN with another Eco Fest.

"This festival is becoming a firm-favourite in our local calendar and it is a great opportunity to promote greener living, whilst supporting community cohesion.

"This is a great extension to some of our smaller events, such as the repair café and our communi-teas."

Dean Mason, a leadership team ambassador at The Midcounties Co-operative in Swindon, said: “At The Midcounties Co-operative, we’re committed to working with local communities to make a positive impact on our environment. The Swindon Eco Fest is a great reflection of this and we’re proud to be able to support the event by helping it remain accessible to all and free of charge.”
