Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run in Trowbridge.

At 4.45pm on January 5, a 39-year-old man was hit by a car as he was crossing Bradley Road, between the Yeoman Way junction and Frome Road/County Way roundabout.

The collision caused him to fall to the ground and suffer a bleeding nose and injury to his elbow.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and is said to have driven off at speed.

PC Sarah Pickles said: “There were a number of witnesses to the incident who police have already spoken to. It is believed the vehicle involved was a Ford Focus and it left the scene towards County Way.

“The victim was seen to by paramedics and was taken to the Royal United Hospital as a precaution.

“While we have already spoken to several witnesses who had stopped at the scene, we are keen to speak to anyone else who was in the area who may have vital information to help us identify the person involved.”
