A WILTSHIRE artist has won the Right Angle Frame prize at the annual open exhibition at The Pound Gallery in Corsham.

Anne Martin Pyne, 74, is pictured with her triptych drawing, The Place I Never Left, accepting her prize from Steve Hible, the sponsor.

Mrs Pyne, of Woolley Street, Bradford on Avon, took a degree in Drawing and Applied Art as a mature student and uses non-fade inks to produce very detailed abstract graphic drawings.

She came from a background in publishing and then specialist antiques before finding her vocation as an artist 15 years ago.

Mrs Pyne said: “I think it is important to have ambitions, whatever your age and don’t give up should you not succeed the first time. Keep believing in yourself.”

She started entering curated open exhibitions 12 months ago and has also been accepted by the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol and the Black Swan Gallery in Frome.
