WARMINSTER Town Council is set to rise its precept by £3.83 a year.

The 3.09 per cent increase was agreed during a town council meeting held last night in the Civic Centre.

The council unanimously agreed the rise that will see an average band D household council tax precept increase to £127.96 a year.

Cllr Chris Robbins, of the finance and asset committee, said: “We have built in several contingencies.

“The actual total proposed budget came out at £786,483. Not only has the budget last year held up, this year is well within our range. I can see no problems and the finance and assets were pleased with it.”

During the same meeting, a police report issued by PC Lee Pelling confirmed that police had dealt with anti-social behaviour in Warminster town park over the last month and officers were using CCTV to investigate further.

The town is also set to get a new PCSO, to bring the town’s numbers back up to two. The voluntary officer is currently in training.
