PROSPECT House has been

given a £50,000 boost thanks to a developer.

The Swindon organisation was given the cash by David Wilson Homes’ Southern office, which chose it as its charity in 2018.

Head of fundraising at Prospect Sheryl Crouch said: “We are

extremely grateful for this incredible donation and would like to thank everyone at David Wilson Homes’ Southern office.

“With over £6m to raise each year, support from organisations and individuals in the local community plays a vital part in enabling us to continue to care for and support the 7,300 patients and family members when they need us most.

“We are always looking for opportunities to work with local organisations so this partnership has been a very welcome one and we hope the generosity of David Wilson Homes will encourage other local organisations to work with us in the future.”

The cheque for £50,790 will go towards funding supporting people with life-limiting illnesses.

The developer held a number of events through the year, including a charity sports dinner where attendees included former professional rugby players Neil Back, Simon Shaw and Zinzan

Brooke.

There was also a dress down day and various in-house raffles.

And the final total includes the £15,000 donation by parent company Barratt Developments.

Managing director at David Wilson Homes Southern Paul Crispin said: “We are delighted to have managed to raise £50,000 for Prospect Hospice.

“As a leading housebuilder we understand the importance of supporting charities and communities and strive to give back wherever we can.

“It is a pleasure to be able to support the vital work being carried out by the charity and the work they do is very admirable.

“Prospect Hospice was chosen as our charity of the year in January last year and since then our staff have been working to raise funds for the cause, with the main event being a sports charity dinner.”
