A PROFESSIONAL storyteller paid a visit to children at Bitham Brook primary School in Westbury to celebrate national storytelling week.

Storyteller Nicola Grove regaled the youngsters with the exciting true story of Mary Read, a famous woman pirate.

The children have been learning about pirates this term, and in the interactive session they joined in with singing a sea shanty and action games.

Organised by house builders David Wilson Homes, the session was made possible as part of the company's initiative to lend a hand to several local projects and environmental causes as it works on its Mill Brook development in Westbury

Headteacher Mr Ross said: “The children left the storytelling session full of excitement and thoroughly enjoyed their time with Nicola.

"A huge thank you to David Wilson Homes for arranging the session, which will no doubt be a lasting memory for our pupils.”
