STAFF at a Warminster opticians are marking 30 years in business in the town with a celebratory event on Saturday 9 February and running special offers throughout the month.

Specsavers in Three Horseshoes Walk,Warminster, is delighted to invite customers and members of the local community to join them in raising a glass to 30 years in business.

To mark their 30th year, there will be 10 chances to win a pair of designer frames during the month and in addition the team will be offering a special 25 per cent discount.

Store director Richard Goring said: “The celebration coming up is all about recognising the tremendous work our team does and thanking our lovely customers for their continued support.

“Alongside the celebrations, we’ll be having two contact lens practitioners in for the day so that customers can find out more about wearing contacts as well as trying them out.”

Monica Coles was the store manager when Specsavers in Warminster first opened and now works there part time.

She says: “It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since we opened the doors for the very first time. It’s amazing to see the children who used to visit us for sight tests when we first opened, now visit us with their own families.”

The store opened in 1989 with just three members of staff and two testing rooms, carrying out a handful of sight tests each week. Today, they have an 18-strong team, five testing rooms and see more than 300 customers a week, as well as offering audiology services.

Another huge development coming soon to the store is a state-of-the-art Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine, usually found in hospital eye departments. The 3D scanning technology allows optometrists to view the eye in more detail than ever before.

MrGoring added: “We’re delighted to be a part of the Warminster community and are excited to raise our glasses to the next 30 years.”
