A PROTESTOR was arrested after a mobile phone was damaged at the yellow vest march earlier today.

Police said the 29-year-old woman from Bristol, believed to have been a counter demonstrator, was in police custody.

On the whole, the march had passed without incident, Supt Adrian Burt said: “Today’s protest march was very peaceful with approximately 50 yellow vest protestors and 80-90 counter-protestors in the town centre between 1pm and 3.30pm.

“I would like to thank those who took part in the march for doing so peacefully and also thank shoppers and those travelling in and around Swindon town centre for their patience if their journey was disrupted in any way.”
