A TIGER died at Longleat on Monday(Feb 11) following a fight with two other tigers.
Thirteen-year-old Shouri, who arrived at the park in 2006, got into the next-door paddock where the two other tigers, Red and Yana, were waiting to be let into the main enclosure.
A spokesman from Longleat said: "It is with deep sadness we have to announce the death of one of our female Amur tigers, Shouri, who has died following a fight.
"During the process of moving the tigers between the various outdoor paddocks a door connecting two areas was opened which meant Shouri was able to gain access to the same outdoor area as Red and Yana.
"A full investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this terribly sad event.
"The Safari Park was not open to the public at the time of the incident and Red and Yana were not injured.
"The dedicated team of keepers are understandably, extremely distraught by the events and we are doing everything we can to help and support them."
