PEOPLE from Devizes did not find it too much of a wrench to hand over their old tools to help people in Africa build better lives.
Devizes Rotarians have handed over a huge haul to the charity Tools For Self Reliance based in Holt, near Trowbridge.
Rotary club president Alan Martin said: "Devizes Rotary and Tools For Self Reliance are very grateful for the support and contributions made by the people of Devizes."
Rotary club member Paula Winchcombe collected a wide range of tools at her funeral director business premises in New Park Street, Devizes and is keen for people to keep on donating.
The Holt charity needs carpentry and metal working tools, building tools and even large items such as sledge hammers, pickaxes and crowbars.
It works in partnership with organisations in six Africa in countries where the refurbished tools are sent.
A spokesman said: "Unwanted tools can provide the beginning of a sustainable livelihood and income, for people affected by poverty in Africa - people who will benefit by being able earn their own living once they receive the refurbished tools and receive the necessary training."
