FORMER corporal turned athlete Kelly Ganfield has been presented with an Endeavour Fund Award.
Miss Ganfield, from Trowbridge, who is visually impaired and epileptic, was medically discharged from the armed forces in 2005 and now competes in athletics in the Invictus Games.
Presented by Olympic multi-gold medal winner, Matthew Pinsent, she was named as the individual who has best utilised her endeavour to promote and catalyse her recovery.
She said: “This means a great deal to me because I not only did this for me, I did this for my little three-year-old daughter who has got cerebral palsy, and I wanted to prove to her that anything is possible in life, no matter what you go through.”
The Endeavour Fund, led by The Duke of Sussex and The Royal Foundation, provides financial backing and guidance to programmes and charities across the UK that helps and supports thousands of service personnel and veterans to reach their full potential.
