A FORENSIC tent has gone up in a field near Pentylands Lane in Highworth.
Wiltshire Police has said it is keeping an open mind as to whether the search is connected to the murder of Highworth mum Linda Razzell.
Mrs Razzell's husband Glyn was convicted in 2003 of her murder but her body has never been found.
An area on Pentylands lane was sealed off and police could be seen walking around the field.
In a statement issued last night a spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: "We are conducting some local enquiries in the Highworth area today (Friday 22 February) following information from a member of the public.
"As part of these enquiries, we have cordoned off an area in a field off Pentylands Lane.
"People in the local area are, therefore, likely to see an increased police presence in this area over the weekend. Our enquiries also include the use of police dogs.
“As these enquiries are at an early stage, it would be inappropriate to comment at further at this time.”
