Steeple Ashton Guides were invited to represent Girlguiding UK at the Commonwealth Service in Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Eight Guides and two leaders were chosen to represent the movement at the annual Commonwealth Day Service in Westminster Abbey in London.
Members of the Royal family were in attendance and the girls were thrilled to see the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex as well as the Queen and Prince Charles.
During the service they were entertained by the Indian Dhol Foundation Drummers who paraded through the abbey, as well as music from Alfie Boe, Clean Bandit and B Positive.
A spokesman from the Guides’ group said: “The whole of the event was truly memorable as we listened to music and choirs before the service started and chatted with three Commonwealth medal-winning athletes. We watched the 53 Commonwealth Flags parade.”
