STAFF and residents at Barchester’ s Henford House Care Home in Warminster enjoyed an afternoon of canine capers to celebrate Crufts 2019 when they hosted their annual dog show.

This year’s dog show on Thursday, March 7 featured entertaining categories from ‘Waggiest Tail’ to ‘Looks most like to their Owner’; as well as ‘Most Handsome Dog/Bitch’ and ‘Most Obedient’.

Entry was free for all who came to cheer on the furry competitors, who were up for champion prizes including dog toys, blankets and plenty of treats.

All categories were judged by Lara and Taylor from Charismatic Pets, Warminster’s local animal behaviour and training specialists, who also gave an obedience display and held a question and answer session for anyone looking for tips on how to best support their dog.

General Manager, Karen Sawyer, said: “Our residents and staff love our popular annual dog show and to have a chance to watch and interact with the dogs was very special for everyone.

“We’ve had a great day meeting our furry friends and their families from the community and our doors are always open if they ever want to stop by again for a visit.

“We would also like to thank charismatic pets for all their support in making the day such an enjoyable one”

A Henford House resident said: “It was a lovely afternoon and they were glad there were guest judges, as deciding the winners was difficult as they were all lovely.”
