A COUPLE have been violently attacked at a boxing match last weekend.
The attack happened late on Saturday night on March 9 during an event at the Oasis Leisure Centre.
The 31-year-old victim man attacked by a gang of men, who were known to him, and sustained significant injuries to his head and face.
PC Kevin Payne from Wiltshire Police said: "This was a cowardly attack - the victim was knocked to the ground and had his head stamped on.
"When his partner tried to intervene, she too was set upon and kicked to the floor.
"The incident occurred during a boxing match at the venue so it is likely there would have been people nearby who were recording the event, and may have captured the incident.
I really need to obtain this footage, or even witness accounts, in order to bring the offenders to justice.
"We will not tolerate violence like this and would urge anyone with information to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
