A NUMBER of charges have been made against two people following an incident at Erlestoke Prison near Market Lavington.

The charges relate to prohibited items being brought into the prison.

Police said: "Daniel Bryant, aged 45, of Air Balloon Road, Bristol, has been charged with one count of bringing a List A prohibited article into a prison."

He has also being charged with two counts of bringing a List B prohibited article into a prison and three counts of bringing a List C prohibited article into a prison intending it to go to a prisoner.

Bryant has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning (21/03/19).

Also, Tracey Louise Radford, aged 46, of Air Balloon Road, Bristol, has been charged with three counts of intentionally encouraging or assisting with an offence. She has been released on conditional bail to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court in May.

The charges relate to an incident where a police officer stopped a vehicle near to Erlestoke Prison on Tuesday afternoon of this week (19/03/19).
