FOLLOWING a report in the Wiltshire Times, February 15 edition on a case at Bath County Court involving Melksham firm TJ Professional Builders, we were contacted by the company with several concerns about its content.

Having carried out a full investigation, the Wiltshire Times accepts the report contained significant inaccuracies, and would like to apologise to Terry Weaver of TJ Professional Builders and his staff for these and the embarrassment caused.

Mr Weaver has run his company in Melksham for 13 years, during which time he has established a successful and professional business, whose clients currently include estate agents Kingstons in Melksham, Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge, Geoffrey M Saxty in Bradford on Avon and Lock & Key in Melksham, as well as schools in Melksham and the surrounding area which are part of the White Horse Federation multi-academy trust.

The firm, a family-run business which employs 14 people including sub-contractors, also undertakes a considerable amount of private and commercial work locally, successfully completing house extensions, renovations and new builds. It has also carried out work on local historic buildings including the Melksham United Church, Whitley Methodist Church and Shaw parish church.

“We are an honest company, a family company. We have a good reputation in this town and community and we want to keep it,” Mr Weaver said. “We work with Total Kitchens, also in Melksham, so we can give customers a full service if they want for carpets, tiles and flooring. All our work is checked by the building inspectors and they have no problem with us.”
