POLICE cadets had a lesson on staying safe online by community support officers.
The young cadets got lessons from South Swindon PCSOs Dean Tilling and Charlotte Windle on internet safety and social media.
They were taught the importance of staying private online and given advice on how to use social media safely.
Part of the lesson included making posters to categorise types of online speech, and watching a video of real life examples.
A spokesperson for Swindon South Police said: “Please ensure your children are aware of the risks involved with using social media.
“If you have any concerns, please talk to your child’s school to see if the local PCSO is able to come and present a lesson to them.”
Pupils at Millbrook Primary were given online safety lessons from representatives at Google and the charity Parent Zone this week, covering issues such as personal data and online bullying.
