THREE madcap amateur drama group members are planning to throw themselves out of plane to raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Sarah Badger, 29, and her two friends, Charlotte Paskin, 26, and Joe Hargreaves 29, will be doing a tandem skydive for the charity.

Their fundraising leap will take place on Sunday, June 2 at the Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury.

Charlotte, of Kenilworth Gardens, Melksham, said: “It was Sarah’s idea. It was on her bucket list and we’re just going along for the ride.

“We are trying to gain as much publicity as possible in order to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.”

Sarah, of Belvedere Road, Bowerhill, added: “I am really excited but the others are truly terrified of flying.”

The three all met through the Melksham Music and Drama Group and have already raised £190 towards their £1,185 target. To donate, go to http://www.justgiving.com/Charlotte-Paskin1

Kenresa Stratford, events co-ordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We’d like to thank Sarah, Charlotte and Joe for signing up to take part in our skydive on June 2.

“Like many people who take part in our events, they are challenging themselves to do something out of their comfort zone while raising funds for their local air ambulance.”

“Our skydive is one of our most popular events and there are still places available. You will be given training from professional instructors on the day and will be in a tandem as you jump and descend.

“Freefalling at 125mph your instructor will deploy your parachute enabling you to see Wiltshire from a bird’s eye perspective. On a clear day you will be able to see famous landmarks such as Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral.

“We are a charity and rely on donations to continue saving lives. We have to raise just over £10,000 a day to keep operating our lifesaving service.”
