TROWBRIDGE mayor, Cllr Dennis Drewett, has helped to take delivery of a new minibus to replace the town council’s existing vehicle.
The smart new vehicle was bought with help from grants awarded from a variety of sources, including £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The council also received £10,000 from Wiltshire Council’s Trowbridge Area Board and £1,000 each from Community First and the Avon Valley Running Club.
The town council was unsuccessful in bidding for £9,000 of grants from Tesco Bags of Help and the Aviva Community Grant.
Hayley Bell, the council’s head of service for leisure and facilities, said: “The new minibus is a fantastic community asset that will continue to be a major resource for sports clubs, schools, voluntary and charitable groups. Our thanks to all the funders.”
“Our particular thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, our Wiltshire Area Board, Community First and Avon Valley Runners who provided funding.”
