JOBS will be boosted in Corsham after a hub for start ups was relaunched in the town.

The newly named Corsham Digital Mansion sits alongside the 18th century refurbished Mansion House and is set to give start up businesses a space to rent offices from.

Inside there are 25 offices available and a shared space for up 20 people working on different projects and start ups.

The Mansion has been transformed using £2.5m of investment from the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, part of £169m of funding from the Government's Local Growth Fund for investment in Swindon and Wiltshire by 2021.

Digital Mansion was officially opened on Friday by Leader of Wiltshire Council Jane Scott who said: “We are creating something really special here right in the heart of Wiltshire.

“We want to attract the brightest and best minds to use this unique space and be supported in taking their ideas forward.

“At Wiltshire Council we don’t just talk about the economy we actively engage in creating the right space where great ideas can flourish.”

The official opening was attended by councillors, residents and members of the SWLEP.

Tours were given of the new site, that sites near the town centre on Pickwick Road in Corsham.

It is hoped that new start up, growing businesses, professionals and academia will all make the most of the space to boost Corsham's reputation as a leading place for the digital economy
