TICKETS are still available for Paul Weller’s forthcoming Forest 2019 gig at Westonbirt Arboretum.

According to organisers the Forestry Commission, however, they are selling fast.

Paul, who began his long career with indispensable punk-era stars The Jam, plays the Gloucestershire venue on Friday, June 14.

The Forestry Commission stages Forest Live every year at locations across the country, and says 1.75m people have attended since the shows began 18 years ago.

Money raised is used by the organisation to help look after the nation’s forests and their wildlife sustainably.

Paul, who first took part in 2004, said: “The forest shows are always great gigs for us and it’s been a while since I last did them, so I’m really looking forward to them.”

Paul and his Jam bandmates exploded on to the music scene in 1977 with debut album In the City. The band released a further five albums - and produced a series of era-defining singles - before splitting.

Later acclaim for Paul came thanks to his key role in The Style Council and a growing sequence of solo albums.

The most recent of these, True Meanings, is his 14th - and his 26th altogether. Released last September, it entered the UK album charts at Number Two.

Tickets for the June 14 gig are priced at £48.50, plus a £5.35 booking fee. Call 03000 680400 or visit forestryengland.uk/music
