COPS swooped on a white Audi A5 on the A350 in Wiltshire at the weekend and seized a huge amount of drugs.

The car was stopped by officers at around 9.50pm on Saturday evening (13/04/19) as it was being driven southbound on the A350, having just left the M4.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Chippenham, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A large block of what is believed to be cocaine was found in the glovebox of the car and is estimated to have a street value of between £4,000 and £6,000.

Officers then visited an address in Long Close, Chippenham, where they seized around £7,000 in cash.

The arrested man has been released under investigation while their enquiries continue.

Det Con Keith Harford, from Central CID, said: "We believe this arrest has disrupted a large-scale drug dealing operation where Class A drugs have been brought into the county to sell to people in and around the Chippenham area.

"Taking these drugs off our streets can only be a positive thing - especially when you consider the knock-on criminality that drug dealing and substance abuse bring to our communities."

Anyone with information about drug dealing should contact Wiltshire Police on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.
