MEN are in big demand at The Wharf Theatre, Devizes as a casting for Legally Blonde attracted a lot of young actresses but a decided lack of boys.

Now the theatre is to hold more auditions in the hope of finding boys to play the parts of the two male leads of Warner and Emmet.

A spokesman for the theatre said: "We realise that a lot of people have been/are going away over Easter so we want to issue another call for young actors and actresses to audition for our summer production of Legally Blonde Jr The Musical

"We have already cast a lot of the girls’ roles but a few are still available and we are particularly looking for boys to join the show – especially the two male leads of Warner and Emmet.

"This promises to be an incredible show, based on the award-winning Broadway musical and smash hit motion picture.

" It follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal. When her high school boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, Elle takes matters into her own hands and, along with a cast of sorority sisters, students, hairdressers and more, gradually realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

The first read through is on April 28 at 2:30 and rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9 and Sunday’s 2:30-5:30, although it will not be necessary to attend every one. The show itself will run from  July 24 to 27.

The spokesman said: "Ideally we are looking for older teens - 14-18yrs. You don’t have to be a member to audition and you don’t have to have been in any other productions – if you have an interest in drama or know anyone who is then contact our director, Oliver, now."
