A Chinese takeaway in the town centre could soon be home to six different people.

Applicant Amy Rowlinson who lives in Chislehurst has been given permission by planners at Swindon Borough Council to convert the TinTin Chinese Takeaway restaurant in Curtis Street into a house of multiple occupation.

While the two-storey house, an end of terrace building on the side of an alleyway, is only one room wide, it extends back from the street frontage for some distance.

The plans with Ms Rowlinson submitted show that the building can accommodate six bedroom s, all with lavatories and showers en suite, with three on the ground floor, and three on the upper storey.

They are to be aligned in a row, one behind each other.

At the back of the house, on the ground floor, a small communal dining area and kitchen combined will feature a table, and chairs, comfortable seating and three fridge/freezers.

Permission carries the conditions that bicycle parking for six machines must be available, and no tenants, except for the disabled, will be eligible for residents' parking.
