FIFTY bags of rubbish were collected in Trowbridge and Chippenham as members of the community came together to tidy up their towns for TransWilts’ big clean up.
As part of the Spring Clean month, volunteers met to collect rubbish around Trowbridge and Chippenham train stations.
Sophie Martin, TransWilts CRO said: “It was our aim to hold this community event and get everyone involved and helping out and impacting our environment.
“We have never done a project like this before but it went brilliantly well and we had so much response from when we publicised the idea originally.
“Everyone was asking us when can we do this again so we definitely hope to hold more of these community events.
“The spring clean only lasts a month so if we don’t have time for another litter pick event this time we will certainly hold one next year.
“I am so pleased with how it all went.
“It was a fabulous day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
