REPORTS of a barn fire saw firefighters scrambled to Wroughton.

Crews from Stratton fire station and Swindon’s Drove Road fire station were sent to reports of a fire in a barn on Moormead Road, near the Prospect Hospice, on Friday night. The emergency call was received shortly after 6.20pm.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was discovered in a disused barn.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the small blaze and a thermal imaging camera to check the fire was out.

“The rest of the farm buildings on site were also checked and no other fires were located,” DWFRS fire control said.
