Corsham Town Council have awarded six Community Awards to those who make Corsham a better place.
Out of 17 nominations, the winners were presented with certificates at the Town Council’s Annual Town Meeting on Thursday April 11.
Sanjeevan Garcha, of Barnett Bros Newsagent, was recognised for her service to the community.
John Gale from Corsham Cricket Club was nominated for 50 year’s membership of the club, and Membership Secretary for 17 years.
Peter Greenwood was rewarded for his behind the scenes contribution also to Corsham Cricket Club.
Jane Roberton gained her award for organising the ‘Clean-Up Corsham’ campaign and monthly litter picks at Springfield Campus.
Members of the Corsham 10k and 2k Run Committee were honoured for organising these events, which in past years have made £3,000 for local charities.
The final award went to local fireman and ex-Station Manager, Mark Unwin, who worked for almost 40 years safeguarding the community.
