TEENS armed with knives threatened a group in an Eldene play area in what police have described as an unprovoked confrontation.

The ringleader is thought to have been as young as 13-years-old.

Officers want to hear from anyone can help identify the youths involved in the incident at the Richard Jefferies play park, off Eldene Drive, which saw a 13-strong group confront a smaller group of teens at around 4pm on Friday, April 12.

PC Ed Rogers said: “The small group of youths were left extremely frightened by the incident and fled the scene, abandoning their belongings.

“They were left feeling extremely shaken by the incident. We are currently carrying out enquiries to identify the youths involved and would appeal to anyone who has knowledge of the incident to get in touch.

“The main instigator is described as approximately 13, black, with short hair and was wearing a ‘Supply and Demand’ tracksuit with red stripes down the sides.”
