A TOTAL 14 code of conduct complaints have been made against unitary, town and parish councillors from across Wiltshire since December

Four complaints were made against Wiltshire Council councillors, and the remaining 10 were from town or parish councils.

Of those, six were assessed and found that no further action needed to be taken, two were complaints made out of the time limit for complaints and six are currently awaiting assessment to determine if they need to be investigated.

Complaints included seven allegations of harassment or bullying, three that members did not disclose their personal interests relating to council business and three allegations that councillors were not acting with integrity.

One councillor was complained about for not acting in the public interest. Wiltshire Council will receive an update about complaints at its Standards Committee meeting on Tuesday

There were 41 complaints in 2018, a level similar to comparable local authorities.

The Code of Conduct states councillors should work with selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
