A SEA Cadet unit in Royal Wootton Bassett has been saved from closure.
The charity urgently called for volunteers to come forward to form a board of trustees after the death of its previous chairman Duncan Wostenholm last year.
After the crisis meeting in March eight people have been confirmed as the new trustees and have been appointed to the roles of chairman, secretary and treasurer.
Craig Girling-Jones, volunteer and business support manager at the charity for the south west, told the Adver: "It's fantastic news, they had their first meeting as a board last week.
"There was a large part of community members that stepped forward.
"Thank you everyone who attended, it keeps them secure for the foreseeable future."
The charity will now be focusing on its fundraising efforts to continue offering young adults outdoor activities.
It is always looking for volunteers to come forward. Go to www.sea-cadets.org/woottonbassett
