Bus passengers have been affected by work to improve what Swindon Borough Council has called the 'front door' to the town.
The work in Wellington Street, which is the main route from the railway station into the town centre has been going on for weeks.
Now work has meant that Milford Street, which runs between Fleming way and Manchester Road, across the top of Wellington Street has been closed.
Barriers put up right across the street, including the pavements, mean g it is totally impassable.
The work is expected to continue until the end of Friday.
Closing the street so close to the bus station off Fleming Way has had an effect, with services having to divert and delays expected. Stage coach buses said: "Buses are diverting via Corporation Street and Fleming Way.
"Although no bus stops are affected, some services will be delayed, especially service 10. Our apologies for the delays."
