POUND Arts in Corsham has announced details of music gigs coming up in the next few weeks.
They include a performance by jazz vocalist and singer/songwriter Julia Biel on Friday, May 17, at 7.30pm. She is described as the best British vocalist to emerge in an age by The Independent.
The MOBO-nominated jazz vocalist and singer songwriter takes her inspiration from musicians such as Nina Simone, Miles Davis and Billie Holiday.
Fara perform at the Corsham centre on Saturday, May 18 from 7.30pm, with fiery Orkney folk from a four-piece group at the forefront of today’s Scottish folk scene.
On Saturday, May 25, from 7.30pm, GEO brings soulful beauty and lyrical character to the modern music scene with songs from her debut album AURA.
A new trio, Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, perform on Saturday, June 1, from 7.30pm. Bruce Molsky plays alongside Allison de Groot and Stash Wyslouch, one of America’s premier fiddlers.
On Friday, June 7, at 7.30pm, Merlyn Driver, also from Orkney, brings Celtic folk to the centre.
