With just days to go before the European Elections vandals have targetted campaingers in Box by spraying paint on the homes of Lib Dem supporters.
Dr Brian Mathew said he was incandescent with anger likening the vandalism to the way Nazis attacked their opponents in the 1930s.
The Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for North Wiltshire and Wiltshire Councillor for Box & Colerne said the police had been informed and they hoped CCTV footage may catch the culprits.
He said: "It follows on from a similar attack on cars in Bradford on Avon near a house where a painting promoting Remaining in the EU was erected by former Wiltshire Councillor Magnus Macdonald (Lib Dem).
"I am incandescent over this. That decent British people, in one case a family and the other a Royal Navy veteran, should be targeted in this way for their political opinions is unacceptable.
"It reeks of ‘Cristal Nicht’ at the early stages of the rise of the Nazis in Germany and it must be nipped in the bud by Wiltshire Police before it goes any further.
"It is in effect low level terrorism and for it to happen at any time is bad, but during an election period is unforgivable. I am hoping that CCTV footage may help to identify the perpetrators."
The elections take place this Thursday, May 23, across the country with the South West constituency comprising of Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
It has also includes Gibraltar since 2004.
