A VISIT from Miss Great Britain helped raise funds for a campaign that aims to bring back a six-year-old’s smile.

Kobi-Jean Cole – who is rumoured to be appearing in Love Island 2019 – was in town alongside celebrity trainer Matt Fiddes, who was hosting a martial arts event at the Oasis leisure centre.

The pair were only too keen to help Oliver Johnson, who had a seizure at home which left him permanently brain damaged in 2016, affecting many of his motor functions.

Around £200 was raised on the day – much of it by young Bring Back Oliver’s Smile ambassador Charlie, 8, who baked cakes to sell at the championships.

The campaign is particularly important to Matt, who had to perform CPR on his own son Hero after he also had a seizure at home and stopped breathing. Fortunately he made a full recovery, leading Matt to set up MF Hero First Aid to teach other parents CPR skills.

Campaigner and family friend Samuel May said: “It was such a great day. Our young ambassador Charlie is incredible and has really took to the role.

“It was lovely to meet Miss GB, such a kind genuine woman and of course to have Matt and his family along with Oliver and his family. Spreading the awareness of Bring Back Oliver’s Smile and MF Hero First Aid was simply amazing.”
